Join us for food, fun and dancing! Sunday, June 17 at L.A. Live in the JW Marriott Los Angeles from 6 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. Shuttle buses from all hotels will be available to and from the reception.

Elections

Elections take place Thursday in Kentia Hall from 6 a.m. - 10 a.m.

Sector Caucuses

Beginning at our 2008 convention, we held sector caucuses, where AFSCME members who perform the same work joined together and learned from one another. Delegates overwhelmingly approved these caucuses. On Tuesday morning, AFSCME members will once again caucus with brothers and sisters who work in similar jobs, face common challenges and share the same pride in their work.

A list of sector caucuses will be available here on the AFSCME convention website and in the AFSCME Daily at Convention.

Workshops

Do you want to up your game and add to your toolbox as an AFSCME leader? The convention workshops will give you a chance to share your experiences, develop strategies, and sharpen your skills for the fights ahead. Whether you are a first-time delegate looking for best practices for overseeing your local union's finances or a senior leader interested in the latest ideas about protecting retirement security, there is a workshop for you. Selected workshops are offered in Spanish. Workshops will occur on Sunday from 1:30 - 3 p.m. and Monday from 2 - 3:30 p.m. Look for the convention workshop registration kiosks, right across from the convention registration area.

First-Time Delegates and Alternates Briefing

Is this your first AFSCME convention? Join other first time delegates and alternates for a briefing that will prepare you for what to expect and how to participate. The briefing will cover how the convention does its work and how to fully take part. The briefing will occur on Sunday.
