If you’re attending your first AFSCME convention, this briefing is for you
By AFSCME Staff ,

Is this your first time attending an AFSCME convention as a delegate or an alternate? There’s a lot to learn and absorb.

But don’t worry, the convention process and your roles and responsibilities will all be explained in a special briefing that the organizers have prepared just for you.

The First Time Delegates and Alternates Briefing is Sunday, August 11, 2024, 2:30 – 4:30 p.m., Concourse Hall of the LACC.

At the briefing, you will learn everything you need to know about the convention. The session will provide an overview of what to expect during the week, explain your role as a delegate, provide a refresher on parliamentary procedures and much more. You will also discover how to use the convention as a springboard for growth and empowerment back home in your own locals and councils.

The convention offers educational opportunities, engaging member and guest speakers, and networking events for delegates. We look forward to seeing all new delegates at the first-time delegates briefing.
