AFSCME members always stand with the union hotel workers who make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. Hotel rooms used to be cleaned daily without guests having to ask for it. But some hotel chains have cut back on this essential service; endangering the jobs of hardworking housekeeping staff.
Let's show our solidarity with these essential workers by doing two things:
One, when you check into your convention hotel, or when you return to your hotel, request your room be cleaned EVERY DAY.
Two, show your appreciation for the housekeepers by leaving a good tip daily. Most likely you won't have the same housekeeper throughout the week. Also, consider sharing a note of thanks and solidarity.
Our movement for economic justice is stronger when we stand with working people everywhere. Thank you for standing up for the union hotel housekeepers.
