Child Care

Child care services will be provided during the 46th International Convention. Child care will be available at the Los Angeles Convention Center, in rooms 301A, 301B and 302, and it will be offered Saturday, August 10, through Friday, August 16, during Convention hours only.

AFSCME has contracted with ACCENT, a licensed, bonded and insured quality child care provider. ACCENT staff will be providing age-appropriate activities for your child. In order to participate, you will be required to complete all forms on-site when you bring your child(ren) to child care for the first time. Registration information can be found here.

Guidelines and information:

• You must present a government-issued ID when you arrive at the child care program with your child(ren).
• We are providing daily meals and thus would like an accurate count of children attending. Please include any dietary needs on the registration and waiver form. We understand that your schedule may change unexpectedly, so please confirm your schedule with the Accent providers when you pick up your child(ren) from child care each day.
• Children are expected to remain in child care until picked up by an authorized adult with appropriate ID. Children will not be able to check themselves in or out of child care.
• We have not contracted with ACCENT to provide after-hours child care. Please pick up your child(ren) no later than the end of the Convention each day. You will be personally responsible for late fees imposed by ACCENT if you pick up your child(ren) after the closing time. 
• In the unlikely event of an emergency, please turn your cell phone on vibrate while you are in the Convention Center if your child(ren) is in child care.
• Camp AFSCME will accommodate children over 12 on a case-by-case basis.
• Meals and snacks are provided on all days except Friday, August 16, when lunch will not be served.
