Information You Need to Know Before Booking Your Hotel

1.  A credit card is required at the time of booking to guarantee each guest’s reservation for one night. The credit card will only be charged for the first night of room and tax, not the full stay, after July 12, 2024. If your affiliate is covering your hotel stay, you are responsible for ensuring that your payment method on file is updated by July 12. This is to ensure that your credit card on file is not charged for the one night’s room and tax.

2.  Convention Hotels will require a flat $100 cash or credit card deposit to cover incidental charges upon check-in. If a guest exceeds the $100 deposit, an additional cash deposit will be required to authorize further incidental charges. Any unused funds will be refunded at check-out. Incidental charges include in-room movies, room service, signing privileges at hotel outlets, dry cleaning, mini bars, etc. If a debit card is used in lieu of a credit card, please be advised that it may take up to seven business days, following check-out, for the bank to refund the deposit amount. The use of a credit card is recommended to avoid a hold by the bank on the available cash in your account and the possibility of an overdraft of funds. If cash is used the entire amount will be refunded at check-out if there are no incidental charges.

3.  Hotel check-in is 4:00 p.m., check-out is 11:00 a.m. Should a guest cancel a reservation, the deposit will be refunded, as long as the cancellation is outside of the policy of 72 hours prior to the scheduled arrival day.

All housing for AFSCME’s 46th International Convention is coordinated by AFSCME’s Conference and Travel Services Department (CTS). It is extremely important that AFSCME attendees use rooms that are under AFSCME’s contracted blocks. There are financial penalties to AFSCME if delegates, alternates and guests book their own rooms or use hotels not listed. AFSCME has negotiated daily Convention hotel rates that include tax. Please note that the room type cannot be guaranteed until time of check-in.

Delegates, alternates and guests can click here to register for the Convention and book housing. Please keep in mind that all Convention attendees must register, including attendees who will not be staying in an AFSCME room block. Returning your delegate and alternate credential forms does NOT register you for the convention and housing.
