On Thursday, at the 47th AFSCME International Convention in Chicago, attendees recognized the top affiliates and retiree chapters who led in donations to PEOPLE, our union’s political action fund.
To honor those affiliates, Al Cromer, a member of District Council 36 in California, fired up the crowd and made a crystal-clear case for why it’s so critical for every member to contribute to PEOPLE.
“Electing pro-worker lawmakers can make the difference between having collective bargaining rights or having no union rights at all,” said Cromer.
“It’s about safe workplaces. It’s about budgets that support the services we deliver and sustain our communities. It’s about strong contracts and respect for the sacrifices we make.”
It’s always the right time to contribute to PEOPLE. Click here to learn more and contribute.
